Hi, Guys:

Just found out the on-line status was changed to :

"On April 21, 2003, we transferred your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status to another BCIS office for them to schedule and conduct your interview. Scheduling can take several months. That office will notify you when they schedule your interview or take other action on your case.
"

before that, the message said: "fingerprint result received..."

Can anyone please advise if this means that we will have a interview for sure? And how long will it stake for scheduling?

Also, our fingerprint will expire soon. I am thinking fax an inqury for the case. Is that necessary now?

Your case is transferred to local BCIS office for an Interview for sure. It could take couple of months for the interview to be scheduled. Mostly it depends on your local BCIS office's load. For e.g. in San Jose it seems it is taking app. 2 months and ins SFO any where between 3 months to 12 months!

Do you know how long for scheduling in Los Angeles? We are in L.A.

I am a little nervous about the interviewing.

Do you know how they pick the cases for interview? Hope it doesn't mean something is missing about our case.
 
This is very promising. I mean, January case touched.

As for interview, hope04, if you dont have any gap or imiigartion status violation, then I guess you have nothing to worry. Peopel now are resigned to the fact that they either get an RFE or Interview.

Take your lawyer if in doubt.

I think it is a bad news. Because that means we must maintain our status like jobs for another 6 month (everage time for L.A. office to schedule interviews, I just checked some old posts which are very helpful). But the company is not in very good shape now ... ...

I still don't know the reason for an interview, since we never changed address or got any RFE.
 
They must have seen (read too much into something) something in your papers. But, I don't think it is a very big deal . Were you ever out of status? arrested? ... From what I gathered from this board, most people who went for interview had pleasant experience and eventually their cases were approved. Keep all your papers ready, go there with a smile on your face and you will be ok.

Could you please also tell us what was your notice date (Jan what?).

I have gone thru' same process ...my case was txferred in 09/02 and had an interview 04/03....

I guess as long u have job and salary etc is in order as per labor ....interview shall go just fine....

I have read some of your old posts which are really hopeful.

So, is it sure that the transferred cases normally take much longer compared to the cases without interview or RFE?

Did you compare your case with other case filed in the same time? Did it took 7 months longer?

it all depends on the occie where ur papers hv been send. At times they stamp the passport after the interview. So ITs all your luck and mood of iio.

how long did it take to schedule the interview after the case was transfered for their case?

My I-485 RD is: 01/15/02 and ND is: 01/17/02 and
Serial no is: WAC-02-089-XXXXX
 
In most of the cases nothing to worry but, here are some of the reasons for transfers:

1. Randomly app. 4% of cases picked for interview (probably that number wentup in the recent past).
2. Some times if local BCIS office has less load then it is possible to transfer case to local office.
3. FPs were not clear even after getting them done twice.
4. Some cases who changed job using AC21.
5. There is some problem with the case like arrest, criminal record, or some other info like "was member of communist organization in their home country" etc.
6. Some thing raised suspicion of fraud

7. The BCIS officer didn't like your case and don't want to deal with it but wanted to reduce his count :)

So far here are the reasons we've been able to identify for interview,

a) Address change between INS centers
b) Association with some terrorist organization or some other such organization (They have a list, no one knows whose on it).
c) Not replying to RFE properly
d) Misdemeanor.

In the above cases, your case might get tx.ferred. Do you fall in any one of the above?
 
I have to say none of the above.

maybe d) if traffic tickets apply, but we pay the tickets on time. they are speeding once, a few parking tickets. That's all.
