I am on H-1B, 5th year starts today , no I-140 active, my brother recently got his US citizenship. I intend to stay in US. Other than finding a good employer who will will file my I-140 , is there any other proceeding I can initiate via my brother. Also if is is mandatory to report that my sibling receiving US citizenship to USCIS.

Please help.

Uncle Sam doesn't want to know if your bother is a US citizen or not. In short, no reporting is required unless he's a terrorist planning to eat all KFC Grilled Chicken...:D

You brother can file for 1-130 for you, but it will be 3 presidential terms before you are eligible for any immigration benefits. Worst of all, you will be required to maintain a legal status while awaiting this visa number. :)

Your brother can file an I-130 for you. You can work on your H-1B until you complete your six years. You can then leave the US and wait out the 10-12 years it will take for the I-130 to become current.

is there any other proceeding I can initiate via my brother.
