On a B2 Visa can I apply for jobs and get H1B again?

Hi,

I was laid off from my job last week and have now applied for a B2 visa. Once I get this B2 visa, if I manage to find an employer who is willing to sponsor my H1B in such a case will USCIS grant me with a H1B visa again?
or Will I be subject to the H1B quota of 60,000 in granting the new H1B?

Please advise.

Thank you.

Hi,

If u already have ur H1B from ur previous employer, then the new H1B applied by ur new employer is NOT subject to the 60,000 H1B cap.

How did u apply for a B2 visa ? Did u consult an attorney and did u do by yourself ? I am also in the exact same position now where I was laid-off sometime back and need to change to B2 or F1 to remain in status.

Please let me know about it.

Thanks in advance,
Ravi
