hello need some info, this is regarding my freind's uncle and aunt. uncle is u.s citizen and 64 yrs old and aunt is 59 yrs old who recently just got married overseas to a u.s citizen (uncle)

now since he is 64 he is going to be retired soon so as for the support of affadavit to bring his wife to u.s, what is the requirement?

does he need to keep working untill his wife arrives in u.s?

does he need to have some one else on affadavit that such such person will support his wife* 1 or 2 people can file affadavit for her(wife) or no ?

and for how long does the name of affadavit supporter* stays on her* application? and when can be removed/ like after reciving green card?

if she finds a minor job to make some money will that help or the husband should keep working?

The affidavit of support needs to be true at the time that the I-134 or I-845 is shown to an interviewing officer.

Therefore, if they are going the K3 route, the information on the I-134 needs to be true at the time of the visa interview in the wifes home country AND on the I-845 for the AOS interview in the states. So the uncle will need to be working and earning above the required income up until the AOS interview. If he quits/loses his job before the process is over and before the relevant form is presented to an interviewing officer, then your uncle will either need to get another job which meets the income levels, or find a co-sponsor (which you have already identified as a viable option). So if the uncle is working and meeting the income requirements, he doesnt need anybody else to sign an affidavit of support, however, if he is not then he will need a co-sponsor/s.

As far as Im aware, the length of time the affidavit of supporter is responsible for the person they have signed for (the aunt) is 10 years, or until the aunt gains citizenship (so a minimum of 3 years).

hey thank you for the reply. i know that he needs to meet such requirements to bring his wife into u.s but what if he retires before filing K3, can he still find a co-sponsor? a relative/freind/nephew? so can one of those people show support of affadavit for his wife to bring her to u.s in case if the uncle retires before K3 process? :confused:

Yes, he can use a co-sponsor ;)
 
man you are big help answering these questions i know little bit also but some of these questions and requirements just flew over my head while reading and understanding anyways thanks alot :)
