OH - Job Classification Problem (Urgent)

I work in Ohio. My company/attorney is trying to file my Labor. My attorney had sought the job title ‘Systems Analyst’ while SWA has allotted the title ‘Software Engineer’. The salary of Software Engineer is $10,000 more than what I am getting. I don’t expect my company to increase this much salary overnight. My attorney seems to be clueless of how to handle this problem. I have only 2 years left of my H1. Can somebody help me by suggesting a way out of this problem?

Thanks.

This is pontentially a very difficult situation for you. $10000 is a huge difference and there is a great chance that you application will be rejected. If your attorney is cluess then I'd suggest contacting some other attorney. Usually you can have an expert attorney take a look at your situation and advise you for a couple of hundred bucks.

But why me? My salary is kind of ok for a developer. Why they are forcing me to have a job classification of "Software Engineer". All my friends had 'Programmer' type of designation. Why didn't SWA raise an objection for them?

Thanks.

Why don't you ask attorney to request them to make the classification "Programmer Analyst". 030-162.014. It may help then.
