Hello everyone,

I am not sure if this website is the official link to the DV-2010 Lottery application ?

dvlottery.state.gov


If so, to apply for... it really only requires to fill out the online forms till the 3rd of November ?

Or is there anything else I have to do in order to apply for ?

DV 2010 is over already. DV-2011 interviews are running and the results were in May/June
Now you want to apply for DV-2012. I know it's not easy to understand :)

Yes you have until November 3rd
You need a picture 5cm*5cm or 2inches * 2 inches for your application.
A minimum education too, like high school diploma. If you dont you need a job that requires 2 years of trainning.
Check the instructions.
Also, certain countries cannot play. Where are u from?

I am from Austria (Europe). So that should be ok.

To get the photo right is not as easy, best is if I go to a profession photographer.

If you apply through government site, it's free of cost to participate in DV Lottery. If you go through private website, they charge money for application fees and also for guiding you. But there are few scams sites so be beware before you apply through them.
 
Today I wanted to fill out the side... and when ever I start the process and fill out the first page and click the Button Continue, I get the following message:

SESSION EXPIRED

We're sorry, your session has expired. You must complete your entry within 60 minutes of starting it. Click the link below to start your entry again.
Begin Entry

well.. it took me about 5 minutes for the first side, and I have no clue why it tells me the session is expired.
Even if I start again... it tells me... your session is expired.

I tried it with Internet Explorer as well as Firefox.

So what's wrong ?
 
Yes we have the same problem here in Nepal. Everywhere there's this problem of "Session Expired" no matter what browser (Firefox | Internet Explorer 6/7/8 | Chrome) we use. I have confirmed that my friends in US are experiencing the same problem.

My assumption is that the problem is not in the browser we are using, but the main server in the US itself.

With just 3 days left, I only hope everyone gets their chance to fill the EDV.

Same problem happend for me in Japan too.

I attempt 6 times but next page showed " Session Expired "....

Maybe US server cant take it because so many people applying.

I hope this problem fix in 2 days. because we have 3 days left....
 
Excessive demand at end of the registration period maybe causing the system to slow down. Keep trying!

We can not apply more than one time.

I have yet to win..but i want to win dv LOL. You can apply until you receive a 'successful notice' None of your attempts counted. Don't give up!!

Hi win dv,

1st time DV-2010, I asked an agency. so I didnt apply myself. I applied for agency early time.

2nd time DV-2011, I applied myself. I applied early time like on middle of October.

This time DV-2012, I was thinking I should apply or not because I thought I won't win.
and then time passed. But I thought that I shoud try. so I applied on today....
