Offer Letter and Consulate Officer's desire to investigate the Company

My friend’s brother has a company and told me his brother can get me an offer letter. Now question is, would the US Consulate officer be using his computer to looking into the company’s tax return and other previous employees that the company has sponsored? Or the Consulate Officer just looks at the offer letter without going further into the company?

Another question I have is that, on DS-230 Part 1 Q11. ask the address in the United States where you want your Permanent Resident Card mailed. For this question, my answer is the company's owner's house.

Would this be a problem given the fact that Offer Letter is from a company which is owned by the person where my green card be mailed?

I do not know anything about this company. I am taking my friend's word. So when I go for an interview I don't want to be surprised or turned down by Consulate Officer because company is almost bankrupt or some other reasons.

Hi ! I'm DV 2009 winner and get my diversity immigrant visa a few days ago ! I showed to the counsular officer my job offer letter from USA ! The consular officer asked me some questions about the company ! For example, how do you know this company ? I think you should know very well about your company and can answer all of the answers about your company ! You can fill the address of the company in DS230 part 1 of question 11 ! So,they will believe you that you will definitely work there ! You should tell the manager or boss of your company that you are now applying for diversity immigrant visa and maybe US embassy will investigate about the relationship between you and the company !

Please don't lie ! US consular officer are very smart to catch you ! Be honest !

Good luck to you !!! :)

Did you notarize the offer letter in same state as where the company is or any state would do? What questions did they ask about the company? How many people working in the company, where is located, who is your boss? Please kindly write what questions that they asked.

Also can you post your offer letter minus your confidential info in this thread http://forums.immigration.com/showthread.php?t=299231. It may be useful for lot of people in the future as a template.

Offer letter alone good enough or they asked for bank statement with balance above US Poverty line or Offer letter plus I-134 Affidavit of Support?

Did you take the faxed in version of the offer letter or you had the company actually mail you the original offer letter?

All of the DV lottery winners should show the bank statement or job offer or sponsor to show that you will not be public charge ! You should ask your company to send job offer letter to you by mail not e-mail or fax !!! You can find sample job offer letter on internet which must indicate title of job, salary, address of company, name of company etc. The consular officer will ask you at the interview about your job or company ! I don't know what kind of questions will ask you ! Different people, different questions !!! For me,the consular officer asked me that how do I know the company ? What kind of job ? How much is the salary ? That's all !!!

no_trying, why are you posting questions about getting a TN (on the TN forum) at the same time as asking about DV?

If you have a DV spot, you are ineligible for TN as DV is immigrant intent.
