Off Campus Work and Green Card

Hi,

When I was in F1 visa, I have worked off campus using my SSN. Now I am on H1 visa. My company is going to do my Green Card.

Is my previous illegal work going to affect my GC process? If so, is there any solutions?

Please advice.

Your illegal employment terminated your F-1 status, so you are technically out of status now and not eligible for adjustment of status (I-485). If they find out about it is a different question. If they call you for an interview they might ask about these things at its a very bad idea to lie to an IO. Better talk to a lawyer.

Arent they 'in status' now that theyre a H1 visa holder?

I believe, I am in state now since i am on H1 now.

Does anybody know this affect to GC process?
