You just piped me to the post. My god EU is at 9200 already? What is the story with that! I cant believe the numbers are moving so quick.

FYI

EU cut off numbers since the electronic DV for November:

2008 9,200
2007 5,700
2006 3,900
2005 10,850
2004 10,100

Thats true and it looks like we have to force all things a little bit.

The only explanation I have is that huge number of winner did not return the forms.

The increase in Numbers is quite amazing but hey guys, don't be too excited.it might slow down tremendously in the coming months if more people are scheduled for interviews.
 
Perhaps they realise things are difficult when people have high case numbers, so they are trying to make them all current earlier this year? Although maybe it is a case of slowing it up over the next few months back to normal level..

Below the November numbers in the bulletin it mentions that there has been a higher than normal number of family based visas too, and indicates this may slow down in the future, so it could be the same with DV visas.

Ooh yeah, can't wait for my number to be current. it might be current in Feb or March. But hey, i'll take January if it happends. But i doubt it.

Maybe it slows down, nobody knows.

Another reason for the increase could be the upcoming election in November 2008 for which the embassies need time to prepare.

The Elections has nothing to do with Consular services overseas.

dude, get over it. That has nothin to do with it issuance of visas. Visas are only issued when it's available. when there isn't much DV visas avalaible, u'll see the number cripping up slowly.

Thought the cut-off numbers based on the workload of the embassies. They have 50.000 DV Visa, thats a fixed number so how cannot much Visa available? :confused:

Theoreticaly, it seems logical that also this year every region become CURRENT because there are 96000 NL, 15000 seems do not have any chance because of 7 % limit, part will not return documents, or could not meet requirement for support (no I134 form- not everybody has relatives or close friends in USA, and as I have readed there are countries for which this is a must) so in the end there maybe only between 40000-60000 really serious candidates. But I think by the time this numbers must slow down, otherwise EU will be current in jan/feb, which I do not mind since my CN is 22xxx.

DON'T TRY TO IRRITATE ME. Interviews are scheduled around the embassy's busy schedule and not cut off numbers.
