October Revalidation

If you H-1b has expired then your company might have filed an extension which is form I-129. Was this filed after the previous H-1B expired ? or when it was still valid? If it has been filed after expiry it is advisable you pay $1000 more and get premium processing done ,, just in case if its refused you do not accumulate illegal stay in the country(rather out of status). When a petition is filed USCIS service center sends a receipt notice with the case no and it can be tracked online at www.uscis.gov. If you stay 180 days beyond the validity of I-94(most probably the same as your H-1b validity) there is a 3 yr ban. So to be safe because of the long processing times.. if it was filed after expiry it is advisable to do premium processing.

Hard to beleive that there is no approval since Jan 22. Only hiddenman received his passport on jan 26.

I doubt people have not been updating their status. Can you try calling DC office as you are somewhere around the processing times they are adjudicating.

Looking at the latest Hiddenman update, they must be processing the DC dates of 11/9/03 to 11/14/03. I think they will start processing around my DC dates somwhere around next week. I guess its a bit early for me to call. Although i am eagarly waiting to get my approval to finalize my travel plans.

Guys please update if you hear anything from DC office. Will boost the moral of others..........

What is your DC date?
Sometimes the DC date is not at all related with the SL date, so its hard to say whether they crossed your time line or not. If you look at the SL and DC dates of HIddenman and metaman, you can see how different they are from each other. EVen though hiddenman send his passport on 10/27, his DC date is much ahead of metaman.......

Some people answering the phone are helpful while some are not. The SL date is totally irrelevant to find the processing times. They go by the DC date. Maybe finding your DC date will be helpful

I requested the DC date both the times I called, they did not provide me, so no idea.

If any of you happen to find a helpful CSR, please post right away, and I will call again. Hopefully my call would be received by the same person...

State dept. does not update, I just took 10 days + 12 weeks.

DC date does not have much significance either DC dates of 10/17 and 11/1 gor their passport same day.
