I was a silent visitor to this site till yesterday. My case as well as my wife's case were approved on 10/07/02. I was surfing this site since I filed my I-485 on 10/01/01. This site gave me a moral support while passing through the greencard process. So I thought that it is my duty to let you good people know when a case is approved. my ND was 11/19/2001. I sent my ead/ap renewals last week and as you all know my money went in drain.
I was seeing a lot of discussion that INS works from end of the month. That is not true. Hang in there your turn will come.

Maybe you still have time to cancle your EAD/AP
checks in your bank. I sent my EAD/AP application
to VSC two weeks ago, my cheques has not been
cashed yet (till yesterday).
 
I had applied EAD/AP through a lawyer. I talked to them and they said I cannot get my money back. Can someone update rupnet for me as I am having troubles updating. My state is NJ and case was eb2.

to NYC_NY, it's a very, very bad suggestions to cancel the checks

Do not try to play cancel-check games with INS, since INS will be charged for $25 (at least) bounced check fee. You do not want to make INS mad and mess up your GC?

I do not understand why always people want to risk their life for a small money!

So forget about the check, it's only a few hundreds buck but you got your GC, you'd be happy.
