Yes. I had been saying this for quite some time, but EB1 filers were not believing me. EB1 will stay retrogressed for few months. This will happen in October. It can very well stay retrogressed in the entire first quarter of next year (oct - Dec). Only after that, it may become current.

Will they continue to process 485 for EB1 filed in 2006, or that will not be done till EB1 become current.
Thanks

They will process 2006 EB1s because that PD is current as of now - however, notice also that there is about a 10 month delay - if you look at NSC processing dates for 485, for cases that are current now, they are processing applications received last September...so dont expect a response tomorrow simply because your PD is current today.

theoretically cases will be processed as the priority dates become current for the I-485 cases.

Thats nice to know, but where will they get the visas for EB1 if all have been used for the year 2007. This is what I dont get, everything is exhausted and then they process the 485 received in 2006 for EB1 in 2007

Theory and practice has been different for USCIS. It will now be more different due to the July-August flood of applications. There are going to be huge backlogs and more people will be stuck in name checks and processing delays. It is time for EB1 community to also rise and protest.

sjsd,

yeah you will get your green card only after a visa number can be alloted to you... so if there are no visa numbers available your I-485 case will be pending.

Thanks,
My filing date is sEPT 2006 for 485, but the October bulletin dosent seem favourable for EB1. So was was wondering when would the 485 be processed. Although anything can happen.. in the next few months with the visas.

Where did u file ur I-485, TSC or NSC. in either case the PD for EB1 is Jan 2007 so dont have to worry about and even in October the PD for EB1 will likely to stay in Jan 2007 or move a month or bit further.

I don't know why you are worrying too much. Has your NC been through now.
