October 2007 Visa Bulletin Predictions

INDIA EB3s wait for five years?

From October Visa Bulletin Prediction:Other “Visa Gate” Factoids: 1. During fiscal year 2007 (October 1, 2006 through July 2007) USCIS processed over 18,000 EB3 cases for persons born in India and of that number, 8,000 were processed during June 2007 and 7,000 were processed during July 2007. This represents five years worth of allocated visa numbers. The annual limit for India is 2,800 per year in the EB3 category.

does it mean that a INDIA EB3s will have to wait for another five years if the congress does not pass any law increasing EB numbers?

Hard to to say...

but this is what it looks like. Also note that people still can file upto 17th of August so the visa numbers may become unavailable beyond 5 years.

No, they cannot take visa numbers from future years. All visa numbers came from FY07. What will happen is that since so many EB-3 backlogs were cleared, EB-3 dates will make good progress in FY08. However since not many EB-2 were approved, EB-2 will see huge retrogression. It is even possible that EB-3 might be ahead of EB-2, strange though it may sound.

India EB3 visa numbers

If visa numbers for those 18000 EB3 approvals till July taken from this year quota, we should have atleast 2800 EB3 numbers available for India starting from October 1st, right?

INDIA-EB3-PD-June 2002
I-485 RD June 20,2007(NSC)
Started Procedure PERM EB2 in March-07 but didnot file for PERM as of Today.
Looking to Prediction of Oct-07 visa bulletin;
My Question is :
(1) Is it good to go for PERM EB2 and take advantage of prioity date?
(2) Is it possible to file two I-485?

Please reply,

Thanks.

Wonder what those people will be up to who ported from EB-3 to EB-2

However I think the reason we did not see a lot of EB-2 approvals was because there may not be many EB-2 left for approvals with RD of '04/03 .

It looks strange but it is not. During 2003-2006, all four years tons of EB2 got through and EB3 was rotting. Remember people switching to EB2 seeing faster processing !!!! Now EB3's chance to move ahead and EB2 to rot.

Please help me understand
how will this (18000 EB3 visa approved ) impact EB2?
What in the world has Eb3 approvals got to do with EB2 approvals?
Sounds like there are 1000s of people in Eb3 waiting for years and mere 18000 wont help a whole lot and sounds like there are more people in eb3 line than eb2

may not

I think EB2 and EB3 have their own quota, so EB3 approvals may not impact EB2.
