OCI-Sending the passport to the Consulate Question.

Hi People,

I checked the status of my OCI application online. It says that the OCI was granted and the documents mailed. Received at Houston on Feb 14th. I was under the impression that I need to send the passport only after I receive the OCI certificate by mail or get an email from the consulate asking me to send the US passport. I have not received either. So, I am wondering if I should go ahead and send my passport for stamping.

Does anybody have any idea about it?

Check Houston consulate website and look for the OCI Arrival information. Usually the process is(at least in New York Consulate) to send the passports(US and Indian if you have not canceled the Indian passport) once the online status shows that documents are received at your consulate.
 
SFO consulate also requires that you send in the US passport by mail (just like the NY consulate).
