Hi All,
I have printed my OCI application. I would like to know what answer you have given for question 16 in PArt-B.

16) Does the country of Applicant(s) permit dual citizenship in some form or the other? Yes/No
If no, give specific details.


Since the answer is no here, what specific details did you give?

The answer is actually 'Yes'.

But I remember the immigration officer telling at the time of US citizenship oath that US does not permit or allow dual citizenship..

Are you sure? Could you please point me to any document reference?

Also, even though OCI is not full/dual citizenship, GOI requires that to be eligible for OCI, country of your current citizenship must allow dual citizenship (can't figure out that logic :confused:). See #28 in http://www.cgisf.org/oc/OCI_FAQS.html. Hence saying "No" to Q16 of Part B is not an option!
