OCI cashiers check Question

We are ready to apply for OCI at Houston CGI. My question to you is, can we club all the fee together into one Demand Draft (Cashier's check) for me, wife and minor child converting from PIO to OCI and fee for cancellation of Indian passports. (275 + 275 + 25 + 15 )

Also, for return of canceled Indian passports, do I pay one return fee or two return fees for 2 passports (wifes and mine)?

Gurus your help is greatly appreciated, as always.

thanks

Yes

I think you will have to pay $25 for each conversion (applicant) from PIO to OCI and yes I had included separate priority envelope for return of my cancelled passports since it quick!

s_a_kumar - As far as cancellation, this is the easiest method, if you have a camp by Indian Consulate (prior to mailing the stuff to them) - Go there - may be by 7.30 or so and take a token. When they call you, they will just put the stamp and give it back to you. If you need to do just that - it might just take a couple of hours (mainly waiting time). I did that in the Dallas Camp last week, when I had to get my visa.

I'm in the same boat and need calarification:

1) We have a family of 4 application: me, wife and 2 minors. Is it $275 for all 4 or is it $1100.00 ($275 + $275 + $275 +$275)?

2) Mailing charges: Again, is it $15 * 4 or just $15?

3) Can I write one check for appl. fees & mailing fees or is it separate checks?

4) Finally, regarding cancelling the Indian PP - I was told and have read here repeatedly that you DON'T have to cancel your passport before hand - you can do it when collecting the U-sticker in person. Is that true or does it not matter either way? I don't want them to reject my appl. just because there is no "cancelled" stamp on my Indian pp.

Thanks!

s_a_kumar - thanks!

Can you check my point #4 above? I think your response crossed with my update :D

S_A_Kumar - Did you put the extra photographs in one bunch or attached with each person's section? Also did you attach the relevant copies of documents after the application for each person?
