oci at chicago haven't received(Acknowledgment) No

my dad applied on feb 1 got the File(Acknowledgment) No on march 15

my friend applied for his family on may 20th.

still he hasnt received his File(Acknowledgment) No.

how long does it take

i have also applied last month when will i receive the file number

according to chicago website it says new applicants do not send oci forms what happens if a person send his oci do they send it back (because my neighbour filled out his forms and completed last month forgot to mail them but he mailed his forms yesterday without looking at the updated chicago website)

It usually takes 4-5 weeks to Ack, check on the tracker. Your friend should follow up on his Appl since May applicants probably got their OCI by now.

no that's not true with Chicago consulate. They are still processing the applications received in March. Since now they stopped accepting new applicatons hopefully they get their act together and process them in a timely manner.
