OCI approved, planning to go to NY Consulate to collect- Will they give it on same day

My OCI has been approved. I am planning to go to the NY consulate to collect. Will they give the passport on the same day or do I have to come back another day to collect.

Appreciate any input.

Even I am in the same spot, my OCI is granted and printed, waiting for it to reach the Chicago consulate, not sure if it is a one day process of submitting your passport int he morning and picking it up in the evening or what, will let you know if I can get someone on the call today.
