I doubt it will affect us… maybe this is wishful thinking but it seems the “pause” just affects new prospective applicants. In any case, still a bit worried

An update would be great as I have to admit, even with Britsimon’s reassurance, that I’m very nervous now. I saw an interview on Fox and the way they speak of this visa, it’s like we’re all criminals trying to enter the country. I wish they’d take the time to meet some of us and see that is not the case.

Why on earth would you listen to Fox news and expect them to talk nicely about immigrants?

It’s not about us being nice ppl or not. It’s just ideology. It’s racism/xenophobia/white supremacy etc etc

It worked fine! Apart from the long queue being early morning JFK terminal 8 it was a breeze. The immigration guy was lovely and said he lived close to that address I've got for mailing the card. Pointed out that the stamp was all I needed to enter and exit until the card arrives. Merry Xmas. Good luck to everyone in the next steps. Thanks again everyone for all the help and tips. I hope those that haven't been adjuctated get good news in the new year.

Hi everyone, just wanting to understand the CP process here wrt Sydney embassy

Let's assume CP restarts. From my understanding the visa expiry is the same as the medical expiry. Does the AFP check also have an expiry? For how long is the AFP check valid for? I plan to start getting my documents in order state-side a few months in advance
 
Any Fiji applicants here who have interviewed after the "pause" and are willing to share their experience, especially if travelling from one of the islands to Suva? Particularly interested in whether there is any indication that you would need to travel one more time to Suva to collect the passports if and when the pause is lifted, or if they would require a prepaid courier to send the passports back to you? Asking for my relatives based in Vanua Levu.
