Guys (and gals!),

I read somewhere on this forum that IOs call people when they get their oaths scheduled? Is that true? Also:
1- How long does one typically have to wait to get the oath letter (i know USCIS has 120 days to make a decision, but I was wondering on average how long people wait
2- Does the local DO send the Oath letter or is this sent by the National Service center?
3- Have people had their status updated (email, text) when the oath letter was issued?

Thanks!

Some have reported receiving a call from IO about oath, but this is an exception rather than norm.

Anywhere from same day to 2 months after interview seems to be the norm these days.

I believe now NBC sends it. Recent applicants can chime in.
3- Have people had their status updated (email, text) when the oath letter was issued?

Some have reported the online status changed just before receiving oath.

Hello,

I got a phone call from the Manchester DO. They called me because the Oath Ceremony was a week later (after the call) and they wanted to makse sure I was able to make it.

Later, one day before the ceremony they called me to tell me "tomorrow's ceremony has been cancelled, can you make it today by 3:30 ? ", that call came about 11:00 am. I live 45 minutes away from Manchester. However,, I was able to make it and now I am a Proud Citizen

Congrats Cisjua!

Bobsmyth, as always I apreciate your insight and inputs.

I'd lov to hear from other folks that may have gine through the same process. Anyone in Charleston, SC?

Just curious, is the Oath process handled somewhere centrally (i.e. NBC, ???), or is it run by the local offices/courts as resources allow? I mean, after Interview, some DO's offer same day Oath, some give you the letter and you come back, and some others mail you the Oath letter at some point. Is this variation a function of geography, DO workload, DO size, or some other reason?

Intuitively, the larger DO's would have more frequent (maybe even once weekly) Oaths, whereas the smaller DO's would batch them up every once a month or every other week. Is this the case?
