Oath Question

My Spouse had her middle name shortened at her interview. Mainly because the complete name would not fit. She received the "Recommended for approval" letter.
Now does that make her Oath process different? or Would this cause it to take more time for her letter to arrive due to additional checks/processes?

Thanks in advance for all your thoughts

Usually name change delays the oath process and it's held in a different court too. I don't know what the officer told your spouse.

In Atlanta, name change means judicial oath and the IO told me that there is a long backlog for judicial oath. At my interview on Apr 16, she told me that it will be as early as late summer and as late as next March 2009. So, I withdrew my request for name change and had same day oath.

But I know of certain other DOs where name change and oath were handled expeditiously.

Having opted for name change, just hang in there. You never know, you may luck out.

My co-Worker, changed his first name and last name and had his oath with others in the same place one week after his interview
He is in San Diego

I also had a name change. My IO told me that it won't cause any delays because in NYC they have judicial oaths routinely though they are held on Fridays. My interview was 3/20 and the oath was 4/18. I could have had the oath sooner but I actually requested (at the interview) that it be scheduled after 4/12 due to a 3-week business trip.

We are in Jax and am not sure how fast/slow it is. I could advice her to take an info pass (a month after inteview) to ask how the process would be. She didn't ask the IO during the interview.
