Oath Letter Tracker for January 2010 Interviews

Called 800 number today and spoke to 2nd level officer after little hesitation from the 1st level desk people. Put my concerns in a different way this time but the officer told me that my A# file was transferred to local office now. That's some good news finally. Wondering how long the local DO will take now to review the A# file and make a decision.

If your file is really transferred (it si better to ask them where is my A file now rather than if my A file has been transfered),
then here is my prediction:

your will be approved on 05Feb2010+/- 3 bussiness days and you will receiver your oath with 10 buness day from yoru approval date.

I understand your point there regarding A# file transfer. I should have asked where is the A# file. Anyway, I will just wait. I hope very much your prediction comes true. Thanks.

USPS delivers mails on Sunday in California?

Hey, we're 'Special' :)
(I too wish today was Saturday)
Most probably southcal just lost Saturday to binge drinking and just checked yesterday's mail today. (But USPS does deliver Express mail on Sundays - it used to be included in the Express Mail fee but I think they have a holiday surcharge on it now)

Was notified that OD of 12feb10 will be postponed and should receive OL in mail soon. New date is now 11mar10.

sorry it was typo mistake

Infopass? A month's a long time. A couple of us were quoted 2-3 weeks after approval. (However, our interviews were before our oath eligibility dates so they may have baked another week or two into the timeline)

did you your oath date ? i am waiting for oath my interview was 1 week before 5 yrs annversery of gc. i got decision cant made yet

Interviewed on 1/14 at Federal Plaza in NY. Still haven't received Oath Letter or seen any change in status online. IO said my application would need a supervisor's approval because of some missing paperwork (which he didn't think would be a problem) so I am assuming this is responsible for the delay.

What do they do after the interview? I assume background check is completed after the fingerprinting and before the Interview?
Thanks

In most of the cases, they will finish background check before the interview. There will always be exception to the rules though. If the IO told you that your case needs a supervisor's approval but there wouldn't be any problem, the chance is the IO is telling the truth. The problem is, once the interview is done, some local IO's take their own time to complete the process because they have this thing in their mind that they got 120 days after interview to make a decision. This is where we need to put little extra effort to draw the IO's attention. Sometimes it helps and sometimes it won't. Like writing to the IO directly based on the N-652 letter or taking Infopass or contacting local senator/representative etc.. Check my timeline, especially after the interview date and you will know what I am doing. BTW, I contacted local senator immediately after the interview to put pressure on USCIS to locate my A# file.

As per the 800 number 2nd level officer I spoke today, my case was approved and oath letter mailed today. :) :) I will update once again after receiving the oath letter. My timeline explains in detail what I went through, if someone is in a similar situation. Thank you.

Congratulations spiderman03!!! Well deserved!!! Let's know once you have the letter! Do you live in the surbs or in the city? Closer to the city will speed your oath ceremony date

I live in the suburbs. I thought people who live close to Chicago city and the suburbs get quick oath dates. Anyway, I will update it as soon as I get the oath letter. Thanks.

Finally received my oath letter on Friday 6/11. I applied in October 2009, and was interviewed on 1/14 of this year.

After 120 days without notice I put in a service request, which resulted in a letter simply stating that they were actively processing the case. It may have been the nudge I needed, because the OL arrived within a few weeks.

Thanks to all for the advice, and good luck to all those with applications pending!
