Hey hm11,

Any update on this  I'll ask my interviewer next week if he/she has any approximate timeline estimates on getting the Oath letter (I'm interviewing at Garden City)...I hope I get interviewed by someone nice... :(

Hi ratrat:

First of all good luck to you. I am sure you will do OK as most of the officer at Garden City are nice. I observed them when I was there for the interview. Take all the documents with you incase they need it plus an extra set of photographs.
I will appreciate if you ask the officer about the Oath delays recently in some case and what is the best way to know the status of cases pending approval for oath? and how long it takes to complete the name check?
Ask only If you get a chance plus if you get a good friendly officer.

Good luck.

My Oath ceremony from Garden State office is exactly 6 months after the interview.

Hi happppy,

Congratualtions on becoming Citizen of the United States. Its a great experience to be a Citizen of America.

Could you please share your Oath letter experience:

Why it was delayed for 6 months?
Did you make any calls or wrote letters?
Any helpful hint in this matter?

Thanks and Congratulations again.

hm11,

Thanks a lot. Hope you get yours fast.
Mine was delayed becasue the officer told me that there is another file with my name and he nedded to check that. You know how it goes now with all these security checks.
He told me if I didn't hear anything from him in 6 months I would send him an inquiry. I didn't need to send him one as my oath was sent to me in 5 and half months. My total time was 6 months exactly from the interview.
Hope this helps, don't worry.
WHen was your interview?

happppy,

Thanks for your quick response. I am already a US Citizen. My friend is waiting for the last four months for Oath letter.

Hey Happppy

Did you have to re-do your FP since your Oath was more than 15 months after initial FP date?

Did that have any factor in delaying your Oath date?

Thanks!

Ratrat

I had to redo my fingerprints in March.
I don't think there was anything out of the norm delaying my oath. It just happens randomly. 2 of my friends get their oath 2 month after the interviw...
So it depends on name check and what so....
Good luck

Thanks dude!

I will post my interview experience ASAP. Based on WouldBeCitizen's experience in http://boards.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=126782 as you said, I will see if my officer is friendly before opening up the topic of oath and name checks and all that...

Hey,

The officer was not mean, but also not very friendly, pretty business-like...

Also, since he gave me my Oath letter on the same day, I didn't know how to ask about the Oath delays...

I'm really sorry :(
