Baylock and Bostonimmigrant,

Got my interview notice in the mail today. It is scheduled for July 25 at the Boston DO. I have a couple of questions;

1. How soon after your respective interviews was the oath ceremony scheduled?
2. Did you guys have any issues with the name check process (forgive me if you've already addressed this question on a previous thread)?
3. You mentioned that your oath ceremony was at the Hynde convention center. I always assumed the ceremony is held at Faneuil Hall. Do they alternate between both venues?

Thanks

Hi Solasoy,
To answer your questions:

1. If you pass your citizenship test, and if there are no delays, issues, or checks pending in your case, then you get your oath letter right after the interview.
2. No.
3. Faneuil hall is much smaller. FYI, at my ceremony there were 2200 people taking oath, excluding family members, so the Hynes center was a much more convenient venue.

Hope this helps.

cool2,
Did you apply by appointment at the O'Neill federal building (the only passport agency in Boston) or at a post office? If you applied at the agency, I thought one could get a passport within 1 day? I'm trying to find anyone who's used a passport agency for urgent service.

i applied last wednesday at the post office, with expediated fee and overnight mail both ways.
was told it should take between a week to 2 weeks.

Hi Baylock

I applied my passport at O’Neill federal building by appointment. Yes you can get passport within 1 day but they have certain rules require. My travel day was within 2 weeks and no visa requirement so they didn’t give me same day service when I apply.
I don’t know the exactly requirement for get passport within 1 day but I saw there is a lots of people pick up their passport in person at O’Neill federal building. For more and specific information to get passport in urgent call this number (1-877-487-2778).

Cool2, did I get it right: you were not issued a passport the same day because the country you are traveling to does not require a visa for US citizens? Is your traveling date earlier then June 16?

Hi PRUSA
Yes, you are right. I will travel to Canada on June 12, there is no visa require for United States citizen. When I called to make appointment for passport my travel date was June 16. After I applied for passport they told me I will get my passport in 5-6 days so I changed my flight to June 12. One thing I know if you call to make appointment with Passport Agency they will only give you appointment for travel within the next 14 days or if you need visa within the next 4 weeks. For more information look at this website http://travel.state.gov/passport/about/agencies/agencies_913.html
