Oath date too close to my trip to Canada

The IO accommodated my request to change my oath date to Dec 18, 2008, in order to avoid a schedule conflict with my overseas trip beginning of Feb, 2009.

However, I just found out that the new oath date of Dec 18 will be too close to another trip on Dec 24 to Canada. Since I must get U.S. passport in order to visit Canada, there may not be enough time for me to get my U.S. passport between Dec 18 and Dec 24.

There is Saturday and Sunday between Dec 18 and Dec 24. Also since it's close to Christmas, people may not be around to process passports.

I've tried to cancel this trip. However, the trip is non-refundable. I regret that I was foolish to book this trip.

Will it be possible for me to get U.S. passport before my travel date, Dec 24? FYI, I live near Boston, MA.

If you have proof of travel you can get a US passport the same day. Make an appointment at the passport agency in Boston and show up with the application, nat certificate, driver license, fees and travel tickets/itinerary.

They will issue you a passport in 1 day if you have your ticket with you. Find the closes Passport Agency to you, and go there.

If the trip to Canada is by land you can cross with your US naturalization certificate and DL until next year.

Yes, I have email containing my itinerary. I've found out that the passport agency in Boston is the Thomas O'Neill Federal Building. Thanks for the advice!

I'll drive to Vancouver, Canada. But I'll fly back to Boston from Vancouver. I believe that I'll need a U.S. passport.

What's DL?
