I got letter from USCIS for oath ceremony. I wanted to know :-

What all documents in addition to my permanent residence card and oath letter, I need to bring to oath ceremony

They have written that I will have 2nd interview. So what is this 2nd interview all about? What questions can I expect in that?

They have asked me to bring Reentry permit or Refuge Travel Document and Any immigration documents, I do not have reentry permit so why they have checked that box for me.

Thanks

You probably received a standard oath letter. Mine had all the same stuff on it. They told us that we just needed to have our green card and the oath letter. Before you actually take the oath, there is a process they go through to do the following:

- you should take the oath letter and answer all the questions on the back and sign the form
- if any of the question responses require you to provide additional evidence of any kind (e.g., if you paid a traffic ticket over $250 between your interview date and the oath date) then bring that
- when you get to the IO, and they confirm that you are you, they will take your current green card
- they will ask you to check the details of your naturalization certificate, including name spelling, physical description, etc.
- they may ask you to practice your signature on a copy of the naturalization certificate

Once you complete this, you will be asked to proceed to the actual oath ceremony.

The "2nd interview" is the IO asking you the same questions that are on the back of the oath letter, which you have to answer on the form beforehand and then sign. If you can answer those without any problems, you are good to go.

You're almost at the end! :)

The oath Ceremony letter is a generic letter. Are you sure you are required to go for a second interview?

As NewRunner mentioned, the "second interview" is the questions the IO asks you about the questions on back of N-445 before the oath. It's standard procedure for all applicants.

Okay I understand that part but what should I do to with reentry permit that they have checked on letter asking me to bring which I do not have because I never applied for one.

You can only bring what you have. If you don't have a re-entry permit, you don't have one. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I was concerned that we needed to bring all of our advance parole paperwork with us, because I had used it to enter the US on a couple of occasions before I physically received the green card, and the standard letter asks you to bring everything you have ever used to enter the US. But I decided not to take along that stuff, and when it came down to it, they didn't ask for anything except the green card.

I think you'll be fine just bringing what you have - green card and oath letter.

Like NewRunner mentioned here I need to check the spelling of my name on the naturalization Certificate. I was wondering what would happen if its printed wrong on the certificate (which may very well happen with south asian names)? In that case do I need to wait for another ceremony for the name to be corrected?

I am assuming that you reviewed the correct name spelling of your name at the very end of your N-400 interview on a plain white 8.5 x 11 print-out that the IO would have put in front of you. I believe that name spelling is what is used on the naturalization certificate. In the case of the Washington DC DO, my IO asked me to review the name spelling on that print-out and she also asked me to check the physical description details. Then she asked me to sign at the bottom of the sheet of the paper to verify that I had checked those details. It is my understanding that once that spelling and physical description is in the system, that is the name used on the naturalization certificate.
