Oath ceremony re-schedule

Hello all,
I'm still waiting to receive my invitation for oath ceremony..I'm anticipating out of country trip in the next couple of weeks..Question is 'Is it ok to re-schedule the oath ceremony?'. Pls let me know your suggestions.

I think rescheduling oath seems to be the easier thing to do. It means you have passed all approvals and supervisor reviews. However, if your trip out of country is not too long you should be able to make it to the oath ceremony. At the end of the day it is up to you. For me, I prefer not to complicate things to USCIS because if they make a mistake you can get into a black hole from which it can be difficult to come out. On the other hand with your interview date you should have received your oath letter some time ago (although I am not familiar with time frames at your local office), so something might be already stuck and you might want to schedule an Infopass to see what is happening and perhaps to ask them not to schedule your oath during your trip out of country.

Thanks for your response..You might have noticed from the discussion board that Philly office is moving really slow..On Friday Immigration officer called my wife asking her whether she would be interested in saying few words at the time of oath ceremony..While talking to immigration officer we found that my file is all ready to go but otherwise not included in this ceremony as they have exceeded the room capacity for May 1st ceremony..With that I'm hoping mine will be scheduled for June's ceremony.

Also could you pls let me know what all the things to carry for the oath ceremony. Also do we need to answer the questions on the oath ceremony invitation form in front of the officer or they can be filled anytime?

DO NOT RESCHEDULE!
They are so backed up (ie they are passing old files by and now processing feb 08 cases, while Jul 07 cases have not received interview letters) that it will be months before they get back to your file, then another month to send you a confirmed date, you will be delayed 4 months min
