oath and passport conundrum

so my oath is on apr 29th and i am travelling abroad on may 25th. so i was thinking, instead of applying on 29th, can i just go to passport office on 13th/14th and get passport on same day?

i am in chicago btw, and wanted to see if you guys have any feedback or ideas for me?

Couple of years back my spouse had similar problem. She was travelling after 30 days of Oath ceremony. We did go to Passport Center at Dear Born St, Chicago after making online appointment. We told the Manager about difficulty with Airlines not issuing ticket without US PP. They refused to issue same day passport but agreed for Expedite and the PP came by mail within a week.

We needed more time as my spouse has to cancel previous PP and get visa issued.
