NY DoL dosen't give LC case number???

Hi,
I am new to this forum. I got the following response from my attorney. Is it true?????

The NY DoL, unlike other states, does not issue Receipt Notices. I do know, however that your case's priority date is August 10, 2001, as that is when your file was received at the DoL.

Some one could please respond me, I am not sure my attorney is telling true or false.

You should get receipt from DOL. If not you can get your case # and received date to DOL by using employers Phone # or Tax id #

Maybe Kiran is refering to at NY State level?

Which is true. At least that is my understanding the NY state agency do not give out receipts. I am seeking answer to this also for my 7th year H-1B extension. Appreciate your comments.
