NVC's Checklist Response

To all,

I'm sponsoring my parents (IR5) to the US. I have recently received a Checklist Response from NVC which states that I must submit to them two missing documents: certified copy of my Marriage Certificate & Letter of My Employment Verification.

Since I have co-sponsor and I did include in the original package to NVC with all paperwork for the co-sponsor (I864, his tax, his letter of employment) & his family's member contract I864A,does this Checklist Response mean that NVC had also looked at all other paperwork and found NOTHING wrong with them, except for missing the two documents I listed above that were actually for ME, not THEM? Or is is true that NVC hasn't even touched the co-sponsor's stuff, and as they need to review further, I may end up receiving subsequent RFE letters like this Checklist?

Thanks

Hi,
Take it easy. you are fine, Just send them your original marriage certificate, and a letter from your employer stating your start date, your position and your annual income. Send in the original. you will be fine.
Good luck

Thanks! I'm self-employed as a part-time receptionist at a store. For tax return last year, I had 1099 form, not W-2. Now, the store owner is a family member who's willing to write an employment letter for me, but as for self-employment, do I need to turn in business license or business letter with letterhead to NVC? Obviously, being a receptionist doesn't have any of that!

Nobody answered me? :( Maybe my question wasn't very clear. Basically, I'm working as an independent contractor (self-employing receptionist) with minimal income. Will an employment letter from the client I'm working at be enough for NVC's checklist response? I can't figure out how I can get a business letterhead and/or business license for such a job - receptionist !

Just tell your employer to write on his store letter head that you work for him as an independent contractor with a pay of $ ABCD.EF that should do.
