NVC woes: Why is the NVC so slow?

I am a USC and married a Turkish girl in March.
We applied for her I-130 in May and it was approved at the end of
August. So far so good.

Then comes the NVC.
This is by far the SLOWEST part of the Us government that I have ever
dealt with. If they had just sent me all the forms/bills/instrcutions
in the first mailing, then my wife would probably be joining me in the
US in another week or two. However, I am still waiting to receive the
forms so I can provide her biographic information. Why don't they tell
me if these are the same forms that the USCIS uses? Can someone let me
know so I can prepare all the supporting documents ahead of time?

The best part of all this is that the NVC will then take 6-8 weeks to
'process' our case. Can someone verify this for turkey? the next step is another 6-8 weeks waiting at the US consulate in Turkey.

A good time for everyone!! If I was a rich man, I'm sure this would be
easier. Why is this process so discriminatory? Is there a government official who could help expedite my case? Should I write to Pres. Bush?

If you think NVC is slow, you never dealt with USCIS (INS). You sure can bring this into attention of the President as a citizen, but I dont know how it will speed up your case.

as far as preparing forms in advance. just fyi, i got the fee bill letter and it mentions not to use any downloadable DS-230 forms so you will need to wait for NVC to send you the forms and need to use only their forms.
