Hi,

The Autamated voice message at NVC says my case was completed a week ago. Now
1. How do you know if your case has been sent to the consulate?
2. How do you know if your case has been entered at the consulate?

Also do they advise Chest X-rays for a pregnant canditate?
Thanks

Elangoashu.

The message should change (within 10 days or so) that the case has been sent to the appropriate consulate and contact that consulate for additional information.

I concur with octa viva. After the message changes to case sent to consulate...wait for about 2 weeks before contacting the consulate about your case.

When your wife goes in for medicals inform the folks at the hospital that your wife is expecting and she will be waived from the TB X-ray.

case completed

elangoashu,

My information from previous messages is that
normally cases are sent to consulate on wednesday.
after review completion.
Also from cp tracker it seems that vermontcp
has his case completed on 11/28 and his case
was sent to consulate on 3rd dec.(wednesday).

From your info it looks like not all cases are sent together

My case is completed this week and also waiting for message change of case sent to consulate.

Thanks

Thanks

Thanks all!

My case has been forwarded to the consulate on Dec 3rd.
Can I expect feb'04 interview for sure?
Anybody else expecting Feb interview at Chennai?

Elangoashu.

Hello all,

Even my case was completed on 21st november and has been forwarded to chennai on 1st december. I have sent an email to consulate asking for confirmation and requesting them to send packet 4 to my indian address (i am in india right now). waiting for reply.

Most probably we can expect an interview in Feb' 04.

99% you guys can expect a Feb interview since interviews are scheduled in about 2 1/2 - 3 months after p3 is mailed to the consulate.

Yes kd1403, even i expect the same...
Today i have received the following response from chennail consulate.

kd and others,

I have a question. On the birth affidavit given by mother, she has signed in my mother tongue (telugu). But entire content is in english. Will it be a problem, if yes, what shall i do?

Thanks...

cpzinga:

I personally do not think it is a major issue as long as she normally signs officials documents in telugu. But to be safe, I would carry a couple of official documents which displays her signature in telugu such as a bank checks/ deposit slips, her passport copy with her signature and so on.

Also if you want carry a letter which states that she normally signs in telugu and have her sign that letter in telugu.

Thank you But no bank checks, deposits (no bank transactions with her name/sign) are available. also she doesn't have a passport.
who should issue the letter?
or do i ignore this issue as she generally signs in telugu only.

You don't have to be concerned about this. The Notary would
have notarized this affidavit and it is fine. I have myself
carried a similar affidavit. No other supporting documents
are necessary.

Thanks a ton.

So, I wil carry the same affidavit which has her signature in telugu and i will not take any other document.

Friends, I have few questions:

I am in india since last 3 years and i am expecting my cp interview in feb'04.

1. Employment letter needs to be notarized: What is this letter? Is it from the employer that has filed my green card? is there any format available for this? Since i am working in india, do i need any thing from my current employer (india)?

2. Is it compulsary that we need to submit i-134, though we have been in india? My wife has never visited usa and i was there for one and half years on h1 and came back 3 years ago. do i need to submit any tax returns etc?

{This is one of the very important documents for employment
based cases. By researching the forum you would find several
proformas for this letter. It needs to confirm 3 main points:

a) The the position mentioned in LC is still open for you.
b) That the salary mentioned in LC will be payable to you.
c) That the position is permanent in nature and full time.

You need this from your sponsor. You don't have to submit
any letter from your current employer.

It is also important to take this letter as close to the interview
date as possible since you are not currently working for them.
The company needs to prepare the letter, notarize it and
then send it to you.}

2. Is it compulsary that we need to submit i-134, though we have been in india? My wife has never visited usa and i was there for one and half years on h1 and came back 3 years ago. do i need to submit any tax returns etc?

{Yes you need to submit the I-134. However it is a little bit
tricky in your case since you can not show any assets or
bank balances in US. I think you may just have to show
your assets or balances in India and carry some proof.

If you still have the bank account in US from your H1 days,
carry the proof. Carry the proof of having filed tax returns
for that period and also pay stubs etc. }

{my responses}
