Folks,

Has anyone come across issues with packet-3 reviews by NVC ?? If yes, what are the common causes if someone could explain ?

This is purely out of my curiosity - my P-3 is supposedly under review and it has taken close to 3 weeks now (I guess slightly over the average P-3 review period) but would liked to understand the common issues and prepare for a "what if" scenario.

General reasons for P3 Review delays:
* Incomplete or unclear writing on DS 230 Part1

* Incomplete documentation where explicitly asked for. example: PCC required but not mailed.

* Candidate has multiple and various types of visas example entered on F-1/ L-1 and has changed multiple jobs hence mutliple h-1b issued.

* Gaps / Overlaps in different visa dates

* Work overload at NVC which is possible since everyone is doing CP these days!
 
Although the average time for NVC review is 3 (+/- 1 )week. There have been a few cases for reasons I mentioned above it has taken longer around 6 weeks.

But I guess NVC does not have any powers to reject your case, right ? All they could do is to ask for clarification or additional information....of course this delays the process.

Absolutely there is no reasons for rejection. All that NVC does is verifies that all forms are complete and provided. And that all candidates have been in status throughout all sorts of visas while in usa.

the nvc questions are more around incomplete application or a required document not provided.
