NVC missing document

Hello, I send a package to NVC DS-230 with all needed documents last month and I send it by Fedex. Today I got email from NVC that original Birth Certificate is missing!
I know that I send it and I included a letter what documents are in file, how can I be responsible of what they misplaced? Or how NVC expect me to travel to get another original Birth Certificate from another country, meaning going to another part of the globe?? Thats impossible! What can I do?

Not much, besides getting a replacement original birth certificate! What you CANNOT do is call them up and say "no, you have it there, I am sure I sent it, please look again" and expect to get anywhere with it. Unfortunately, that is one of the risks we take when we send originals. I wish they had another scheme in place so that we could hand-carry our important documents to the interviews, but they do not. Until they do, they have us by the short hairs when they lose something.
