Hi guys,

I hear my case has been forwarded to Chennai on march 17th. I am curious to know when should I contact the consulate?And whats the next step?

You can your expect your interview in 2 and halh months to 3 months. (Most probably, it will be in June, but please confirm)

Call chennai consulate after 5/6 weeks to know about your appt status.

Also, you can call/email them asking if they have received your case or not, after 10 days. Once your hear from them, you can start collecting documents.

I concur with cpzinga that it normally takes 2.5 months to get the interview after P3 is mailed to an indian consulate but also call chennai around 10th april to find out if you have managed to get into MAY interview schedule. There is a slight chance for may since last 3 months chennai has been averaging 80-95 employment based CP interviews per month as opposed to traditional 50-60 in the past! Hope it is May since June 12th - July 12th is peak season for air travel with few but expensive tickets in peak seaason!
