Hi,
I'm a guy from Rome Italy, i'm waiting a Immigrant visa from the consulate of Naples.
On July 19 NVC completed my case and sent to the Consulate. It is very unclear at this point how long it will take for me to receive my work visa (E3). I don't know at all what is this retrogression about available visa number!

I would greatly appreciate anything you can do to help me.

EB3 retrogression is for world wide applicants(excluding Scheduled A EB3 applicants) . hence it means no ones EB3 applications in consular processing will be interviewed until then. However you might stand a good chance when the quota opens up for next year on Oct 1 2005 depending on your prioriy date. In the meantime if you have any status issues it is better to get your E3 visa if that puts you in status.

Basically, the unavailability of E3 (except Schedule A) right now means that you will not be scheduled for an interview until the new US Fedral Govt. fiscal year begins, on October 1, 2005. After that, one will have to wait and see if retrogression is a worldwide phenomenon, or just affecting the "big 3" -- mainland China, India, Philippines. At least in the past, I'm not aware of Italian citizens being affected. If E3 is current in October, the Consulate in Naples might schedule you pretty soon thereafter. It might be worthwhile contacting them directly, after the September visa bulletin from the State Dept. comes out.

Daes anyone know how long i still have to wait to get my visa now that my case is at the appropriate consulate? Thanks for you help.
