According to the latest information supplied by the NSC , as of September there were at least 117,000 asylum-based adjustment applications pending with the Service. By law only 10,000 applications can be approved each year.

I also read that in the minutes of last Teleconference between NSC and AILA.

Attached is the record of the teleconference. See question 12.

Re: Re: Teleconference

I just read it.It`s so disturbing does it mean that out of 117.000 pending adjustments based on asylum, only10.000 will be granted permanent residence? This is like a joke.

It obviously means that there are 110,000 folks in the pipeline (which is itself growing rapidly) and only 10,000 can be approved every year. This borders on being absurd and hopefully Congress will muster the will to resolve it next year.

Indeed this is so absurd they who ever is concerned know what is going on.This is too much of torment.I don`t think they would be happy if their ancestors were tormented like this i`m sorry to say so but i unhesitatingly have to .I feel like i was offered a brand new car by a good samaritan but it had no engine.I know sooner or later i will be getting the card but i won`t even enjoy having it because i know they never cared whether i get it or not.Believe it or not everyone in this panel is somehow angry and dismayed for such an unwelcome gesture we have encountered in America. We have been patient and we still wil, rest assured things will change as long as we continue voicing our concerns to the appropriate authorities.

Good news

Under my point of view these are good news, the bigger the problem, the faster that they are going to do something to solve it.

This means that if anyone is to apply today for I-485 based on an approved asylum case, he/she would have to wait 11.7 years to get the green card. Alas.
