I am here since 1995, graduated in 2000. I am married but at this time my wife only had GC. We waited until she received her Citzenship then we filed. Didn't know anything about NSEERS until I received an RFE from USCIS regarding NSEERS. Replied with a letter stating that I didn't know. Now received a NOID (notice of intent to Deny) which scheduled an appointment in the local ICE, in the NOID it mentioned possible late registration if I provided proof of why I failed to register, how can I proof that I didn't know??? I had nothing to worry about cause I was never out of status. I just didn't bother to read anything about immigration because I know I can't do anything until my wife become a USC. The appointment is tomorrow, I am going in with a lawyer. I am very worried. If there is anything you can advice me with during the interview it will be very appreciated.

Thanks

Did u ever do special registeration? There have been cases in which people have applied without registeration and had no problems. Its all who ur case is handed to. Take all the paperwork with you regarding your stay and hopefully he will oversee that. Good Luck...

United nation thanks for the advice
You know the worest part is that everybody I ask about this, seems to have heard about it.

When I graduated from college and got married I moved to a a small city in the south, working 60 to 70 hours a week to support my new family. Didn't have TV and of course never read the paper. I called the Immigration and they said the wait will be very long since my wife only have GC and they recommended waiting for her citizenship as it will be quicker, asked 2 lawyers and received the same answer. My wife also was working but right after 9/11 she received life threats from racist at work due to her religious background, we filled a police report but she was still scared and she had to quit work then which made me work even longer hours and hide the fact that I am originally from the middle east to avoid any threats myself. I had no friends there and lost contact with any friends up North due to my work schedule. All my focus was my growing family and my success at work.

Also the strange part, is that I have a pending case with INS for F1 since 2000 but they never sent me a letter stating that I must register, never approved or denied my case.

Wish me luck and thanks for your quick response
