How long it took you to get a response for your service request. I have raised a service request two days ago and the rep told me that they will send me a letter with the response.She told me that I may have to wait anywhere between 45 -90 days to get a response.

Sounds like it took 2 weeks for the OP's case.

However a lot of folks became current on June 1st and I'm thinking there would be a lot of pending service requests all of a sudden. This would slow down the response time (Just when we thought NSC couldn't get any slower :D)

Come back and update when you get the response.

Same Response

I had requested the status on my I-485 in May last Week. I got a response yesterday saying " Visa number is not available".

Did you get this email as an LUD? When did you get this update? Please keep us posted on when your case gets assigned to an officer?

MK2003

I had chance to talk to real NSC officer (not the REP) at noon today.

Officer estimated that it normally takes around 60-90 days.

May be its the normal turnaround time (depending on PD, RD, transfers or etc) or just a rough estimate.

Hope PD stays current till then.

I got and update on May 16th for a RFE asking letter from current employer..

It stated that I should get a written decision within 60 days unless finger print/Interview is pending as part of normal processing...

EB2 India..PD - jan 2003

Hopefully someone looks at it soon...I was really hopeful when I learned they were just asking the letter from current employer

hl 9010 -> Got the Response on 6/6 via email

hl 9010 :

No LUD becuase of the service inquiry, but there was an LUD due to an Address change ( Thanks to a very nice lady officer who did this update);

rambaba :

I am hoping for the PD to stay current till then, my other concern ( I guess it is inevitable) is that NSC is going at a very very slow pace while other centers are way ahead with Approvals and might consume all the available Visa numbers;

MK

Service Request

Hi SR70,

You just need to call the regular number for NSC Center at 1-800-375-5283.

While traversing through the menus, you need to select an option that your case is pending and more importantly when the menu prompts saying "Do you have a Receipt number?, then select the option that you do not have a receipt number(might be option2),
then it will take to you take a rep.

Explain the rep your situation and say that you would like to open a Service Request. The rep will take all the info including your dependants if any and send all the info to a department internal to NSC.

So, beware that you give all the info(maximum possible)

Thanks

My Attorney initiated a service inquiry on June 1, 2007 but no reply yet. Anyone knows, how much time it usually takes to get the reply for a service request?

I raised Service request on 06/06/2007.
