Why the dates have gone back in Nebraska Service Center processing times? Last month, it was July 2001. This month, it is Jan 2001? any explanations?

foget about published date

I talked to IIO at NSC last friday. He told me that they are processing ND of aug 24.

Guess what...

they might have laid -off a bunch of employees with pending 485s!!! ..seriously, anyone has any good idea why this is so?

This is surprising ...

Looking at these dates I remember a saying "1 step forward and 2 steps backwards". It appears that INS is doing one step forward and ten steps backwards.

May be some gurus with INS contacts can throw some light on this.

June 2002 Cases

Guys,

Anyone with the following dates, please respond...

AOS (Cincinnati)
RD : 06/06/2002
ND : 06/29/2002
FP notice: 07/15/2002
FP apptmnt : 08/16/2002

Are there any changes in the INS processing of AOS applications??
I find a lot of people waiting for their FPs for the past one year!!! and I got it in two weeks????

INS processing of Applications

I think a lot of people who have filed recently got fingerprint notices within a few weeks. Even I got my fingerprint notice within three weeks.

But I am not sure that means the processing is going to be any faster or different.

FP notice in few weeks, but no news since then

Here are my details..No AVM update since l applied..

RD: 06/18/02
ND: 07/05/02
FP: 08/09/02
EAD: 09/09/02
AP: 09/10/02

In my case, the AVM did not even update my finger print status. It was stating the regular "It takes 390 days ...blah blah blah..".

Is it usual not to have an update on AVM though it is more than one month since I finished the Finger Printing and more than two months since I first got the finger printing appointment notice.

FYI, My case was filed from Nebraska as my company is in Michigan, but I live in South California. And my FP notice was send by INS, Santa Ana in California.

Do you guys smell something wrong..Shall I talk to the IIO for NSC.

FP notice from a different Service Center

GreenGuy,
I got my FP notice from Texas Service Center though I live in Cincinnati, OH (Nebrasca Service Center). My appointment was on 08/16 in Cincinnati. Somebody told me it is OK.

EAD : 08/10/02
AP: 08/10/02

Response to NS_IL

Hello NS_IL,
Depending on the state, one may get the Finger Printing (FP)
call early in the I-485 process or towards the end (i.e.
just before the adjudication) of the I-485 process.
For example, in IL, one gets the call for FP within 3 months
of applying I-485. However in OH, the call for FP is done
about 3 months before the actual approval.
This being the case, the call for FP does not mean anything.
As a thumb rule, it takes about 12 months from the RD to
get the approval irrespective of when the FP was done.
This is just my take on this.
Good luck with your GC.

OHLad

FP notice arrival - Timing in OH

OHLad,

I do hope your first statement is true :)
>>In OH, FP notice comes 3 months before the actual approval

I got my FP notice in one month... and if it is 3 months before the actual approval... that's cool...

GreenGuy, please reply

So your processing is going on in TSC though you are residing in
OH ? Were you residing in OH from the beginning of your GC
processing ? Else did you provide an address (like friends
address) which is in TSC ?

My processing is going on in TSC and I was wondering if I get a
job in NSC/VSC/CSC is it possible to continue my processing in
TSC and even if relocate to a location under another service
center ?

kindly reply.

thank you

Dates gone backwards...

Suganthy,

It looks to me NSC is processing the bulk that has been filed during July/August 2001 and they don't want their phone/fax lines getting hotter.
