NSC Online Case Status

Hi I am Betty. I am so glad to find this website. I have been waiting for GC since 1999 and feel like living in the darkness. Now I know I have a lot of friends here who can share information and help each other.

I wonder if anyone can help me to explain what is the meaning of the message on NSC online case status as follows:

"On January 27, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. It is taking between 570 and 600 days for us to process this kind of case. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case."

I submitted RFI in January and have been waiting for any new status change. But it has been four months I did not receive anything other than the above message on website.

What is your experience with NSC recently? Do I really have to wait 570 to 600 days for my GC?

Close to approval

Hi Betty,
After u have submitted the RFI which is ur medical & G325A its a generic message every body gets thats.After that u be getting BIO Code 3 which is Finger Prints,Ur signature & Picture for Green Card. Wait for that letter.
Thats it after Bio u be approved in weeks.So dont worry about 570 - 600 Days message as thats the routine. I hope this inforamtion will help u .

I 'd love to believe you that we are close to approval or etc. It looks like Nebraska Processing Center is a Lab for CIA or FBI. i cant get it why would they be able to send medicals and bio3 for everybody so fast . but they cannot approve at the same speed.What makes them wait? i guess it is FBI and CIA .

Thank you! I have done BIO Code 3 before I submitted the RFI. Do I have to do it again? What will be the next step for my case? My LUD has never changed since the last message in January 06.

Betty, I hope not but you may have to take Bio 2 if USCIS can't find that in your file after approval for card production. Again that's only the case if they don't find it & that's exactly what happened to me. I was approved Feb 9th but 3 months no card so I started calling USCIS & found out IO don't find my Bio therefore card was not issued. I told them I finished that last year July & I even saved that receipt copy to prove that I completed it but you know how USCIS operates. So they sent me another Bio 2 appointment for last Thursday & I did do that as instructed. Now lets see how long I have to wait for them to mail me my plastic.
So as I said since you already did code 3 so even though USCIS misplaced (which I sincerely don't hope for) that you probably have to do the code 2 part only. But than again most probably your luck ain't like mine so you'll be getting your card a week or two after approval & that's the norm of an approved case.

I got conditional approval based on 1,000 limitation in 1999, then after 4 years I finally received the final asylum grant in 2003. I guess I have to be patient after already waiting for such a long time.

I will keep you posted for any update on my status. I also welcome the comments and experience sharing from more friends on this topic.
