The dates for NSC going back means there is something wrong with mathematics everytime. Going back means they realize they are not covering retrogrssed countries and now they should.......... Anyway,........at this stage for retrogrssed applicants it means nothing.!!!

I'll not worry about the dates going back and forth. I guess this is a technique that USCIS adopts to keep the call volume to their call centers low. Otherwise they go with "Business As Usual". I my case too while I was waiting for my GC approval the Processing date keep going back and forth and to my frustration people who filed around the same time as I did kept getting approvals and mine was pending. Finally when I got my approval the processing date had passed my RD by over a year.

So don't keep your eggs in the processing date basket and keep watching Rupnet and this forum for approval dates. It will give you better idea of current processings.

Thanks

Thats classic NCS ... a gaint leap backwards.

Hmm just a guess -- a guy might have called in : Mam, I had applied for 485 June -04 .. I see the processing date of May-05 ... can I know whats happening in my case ...

The customer service girl : Hmm I see U are having probems with the processing dates ahhh.... ok I will roll it back to April -04 .. I hope that solves Ur problem.

Thank you for contacting customer service --- the largest and the best in the world.

I wont be suprised if they rollback the processing dates to late 2002 /early 2003 if the current immigration bill passes and moves the PD considerably .....

There is no point in discussing 485 "processing date", in view of retrogression. The date has no meaning. In fact, NSC or other service centers are starting the processing of 485 applications, on the same day they receive it. They are sending the FP notices and initiating the Name check.

They are publishing the date only to fill the gaps.

Processing dates DO make sense for the lucky few that are not effected by the current retrogression (or those that are past the cutoff)

Plus it allows a lot of affected people to file an inquiry and get a canned dumb a$$ reply mail :D
