NP+GC still go to secondary inspection?

I just came back from my asia trip 3days ago my POE was SFO,when I entered the first IO was nice and asked me about my job and where am I going to go next after SFO,then he sent me to secondary inspection? then I went there the second IO was kinda nice also and he deeply ask my trip...how long,what did i do there,and till he asked me how do I get my asylee status? Wierd..... but I answered and he stamp my NP and let me go...
my question is why did they send me to secondary(travel with NP+GC)?
I traveled with NP+GC since singapore doesnt recognize RP.
my cop is near singapore maybe thats why he sent me... maybe...
any other idea why???
i wish i had fear to ask why they send me.... i was kinda scared they sent me there... but i didnt do anything wrong though....

dont worry ,this happenen to me last year,it just depend on the officer,

last year i was coming from japan , i was using my GC AND RP,

I arrived at SFO , the officer start to ask me why i dont have NP,
i told him iam asylee i dont have NP, HE sent me to the second inspection,

few months ago, i was coming again frpm japan, i arrived at SFO,

THERE WAS NO PROBLEMS, i had my GC AND RP , THE officer was nice,
he asked me where i was coming from and he let me go
