I had my interview done one month back. I had my finger printing done two months back.

Today I got a letter from USCIS which says

"This is to notify you that your application for lawful permanent resident has been approved. This means that you are now a lawful permanent resident of the United States. Your permenent Resident card will be mailed to you directly from the INS Service Center servicing your state of residence. You should be receiving your card within the next 9 to 12 months."

Does it really reake 9 to 12 months to get the real card. Anyone would like to share his/her experience regarding how long it took to get the real card after the person received similar letter.

No idea about Baltimore.

In NYC, it took almost 2 months after getting passport stamped.

I had the card in the mail 10 days after the interview (they stamped the passport at the interview)
