Notice of approval & EAD

Hi,

Is the Notice of Approval and the EAD card same. or are these, two different things like first you get Notice of approval and EAD at a later date?

My online status says that they have sent Notice of Approval. I'm flying to India next week. I'll get Notice of approval before i go. However if it is not EAD, i'm wondering if i shld reschedule my flight.

If notice of approval and EAD are different, how long does it take to get EAD after approval date.

Yes, Notice of approval and EAD card are same. In my status it also says that Notice of Approval sent.

One more question, are you allowed to go outside the country on OPT? Are there any requirements to comply with? Please let me know.
 
International education office in my univ said, that as long as i have employment offer letter, i'm good to go. Also many of my seniors have gone to India with OPT.

Regarding Notice of Approval and EAD being the same, did you confirm it with someone who already received it?
