Not sure where to start...

My husband is Canadian and I am American, we have been married for 7 years and have 2 children. We have lived in Montreal (I am a permanent resident) together from the time we were married until now. At this point, we would like to move to the US to be closer to my family. Honestly, I am pretty lost and am not sure exactly how we need to go about applying for his green card. From what I understand DCF is no longer an option so I am not sure how and where to start. On top of that I have other questions/issues...

-We would like to stay here together until he can legally go the US and work, is this possible?
-He is the bread winner of the family, can I use my parents as co-sponsors? Or could we use our home here that is paid for as proof of funds?
-If he were to get a work visa and we moved before his application was processed could this be a problem?

Is there a specific Visa to apply for that would allow us to move sooner rather than later? Any help would be GREAT.

You need to read up on the immigration process. See:

http://forums.immigration.com/showthread.php?288201-How-to-Apply-for-a-Green-Card-Do-it-Yourself

It makes your questions more precise than general. See below for answers.

-We would like to stay here together until he can legally go the US and work, is this possible? Why not? You can start the process for him while living in Canada and start looking for a position in the USA
-He is the bread winner of the family, can I use my parents as co-sponsors? Yes Or could we use our home here that is paid for as proof of funds? You could do that too
-If he were to get a work visa and we moved before his application was processed could this be a problem? Not at all. Work visas, typically H1B allow you to have immigration intent so would cause no problems

Is there a specific Visa to apply for that would allow us to move sooner rather than later? I would suggest you stick to filing for permanent residency for him. Within a year he will have his residency card and can start looking for a job in the USA while working in Canada for another six months. The law requires that within six months of getting his permanent residency, he needs to enter the USA to start living here or lose it Any help would be GREAT Of course if he can get a company to sponsor his H1-B right away, you guys could come immediately however H1-B's typically do not have as broad job prospects as permanent residents because some companies refuse to high them. And some unscrupulous companies pay H1B workers less.
