Not Enough Document at the Interview

I applied for the green card through the marriage. I had an interview with my husband on Feb 2006 and at that time, we did not have enough supported documents with us. Interviewer asked us to turn them in within 3 months after the interview by regular mail. We sent all supported documents at the end of March and they told us they would give the answer within 120days. But I have not heard from them more than a year. I went to INS office and asked them what's going on. They just told me that they have received my documents, so just wait for the answer. How long should I wait???

Espo is nuts...

Hi:

Since March, I wonder how could 120 days have passed since end of March.. You just need to sit down and wait for the officer to make a final decision on your case. Do you have your EAD? If so, then what the hell you are in a rush to get the card for?

Espo might be on steroid... you just don't go and hire a lawyer because USCIS has a delay in adjudicating your case. You wait, write letters to inquire about your status, and you don't need a lawyer for such a simple task..

Enjoy your life, life is too short to worry about USCIS and incompetent officers, because I can assure, hell is better organized than USCIS.... :(I have been to hell and came back with my DL....it is called DMV....

thats what happened to me too. I mailed it to him 2 weeks after the interview and i made an infopass to see whats going on cos i didnt get any update on my case that they received my documents. it turn out that they made a mistake by putting all my docs in the others file. i wouldnt know if i didnt go there..then they had me talked to the IO again..he accepted that its his mistake. and it didnt seem like he will get my docs out of that file and put it in my file. in fact, he asked if he could have the copies i had...and i gave him. after he looked thru it. he asked for more docs and asked us to come in to see him again last friday. we did go to see him but he said he was too busy couldnt talk to us right now so he asked us to leave all docs with the security guard and he would come out and pick it up. i don't know whats going on now and i'm so scared that he's gonna lose it again cos i have not heard anything from him. i will wait for another 2 weeks and will make and infopass to see whats going on.

Jutarath, even the officer has your additional document, I don't think you can get the answer soon because everytime I made an infopass, their answer was always same, "we have your doc, just wait for the answer." that's why i am waiting for more than a year after they have received my doc.
