NORI for J1 waiver - help urgent!

Hi everyone!

Firstly thanks a lot to all the people who have posted on this forum and made my life very easy.

But, I have a problem I have applied for the NORIs at the 3 departments but since the Passport office at Guwahati, Assam says I am the first person to ever do such a thing from there they have no idea what is required.

Can someone who has got their NORI pleasee tell me what exactly is written on it or if possible send a scan (digital photo) of the same to asap by email. Atleast please let me know what exactly is written on it so I can give the format to them and get it signed.

Its no surprise that ur passport office doesn't know what to do, I think there r only a few ppl frm Assam go on J1. So ur PPO doesn't know the process. The letter from them is simple.

Just provide them the notarised copy of letter from ur Consulate of India in US and tell them to give u a letter ( addressed to that particular consulate) stating that ''They have no problem if u stay back in US as u dont have any criminal bakground or ur not wanted for any criminal activites by State/local authorities.

I hav those letters but not facility to scan, will try to send u a copy.
