Non-profit organization exempted from Quota

Hi,

My H1B is filed from a health care company which is a non-profit organization. I have heard that non-profit org. are exempted from the quota. Is it true ?

If yes, then are all non-profit org. subject to exemption or is there any particular definition of that like research medical universities etc.... ?????

I haven't heard very clear guideline what non-profit organization is exempt, but, at least, your job must be required higher education, so that mostly research institute/university will come extempt, otherwise may not be qualified for H1.
