Hi,
I want to know whether a failed DV lottery interview and any impact on other future visitor's visa application. This is my story:-
My husband won a DV lottery and petitioned for me before the DV interview date, because we were not legally married at the time he played and we were not even sure as to whether he will win, at the time of filling his application. We got marry a year later after his filled form and 6months later got his reply that he has been selected, so he petitioned for me because we were already marry by the time the reply came. However, having a son in US with a legal resident permit, I was urge as a mother to apply for a visitor's visa before my husband got the reply that he has been selected for the DV lottery. I already had an appointment date for the 8th Feb 2011 and the DV interview for my husband was 3rd March 2011. Thinking that because my name is already in the system and failure to appear for my first, will have on the bad side of the US government, I decided to attend the first interview (8 Feb 2011), unfortunately I was denied because records were also showing that my husband has petitioned for me for a DV lottery which is an immigrant visa, so my visiting visa application was denied. I went with my husband for the DV lottery interview ( 3 March 2011), unfortunately we were also denied
Recently, I applied for a visitor's visa to see my only son whom I've haven't seen for almost 4years and I was also denied. My questions now are these:-
1. Does our DV lottery visa denial has an impact on all future visitor's visa application?
2. Will my son be still be able to file for me to visit him when is of age? (please note that I was not legally marry to my son's father)
3. How long do I have to wait for me to apply again? is there any time limitations for these type of issues?
I am a well educated woman, has a good job outside my country and have strong ties back in my country, I have no intention of migrating to the US with the present job I have right, I wanted to make my husband to be happy that's why I even agreed that he petitioned for me.
I am so confused because I really will love to visit my son and back to my job. I am currently forced to meet with my son somewhere in Europe and getting a visa to that country was so easy for me but it will cost me more and it's not economical. Please advise
